What do you Airbrush?

Our niche is custom airbrushing on cars, boats, and motorbikes and commissioned artwork, including metal artwork, sculptures and other interesting 3D objects. We specialize in working with automotive paints and finishes.

Do you Airbrush Apparel?

While we get many requests to airbrush clothes, shoes, and other apparel, we do not airbrush on clothing. We specialize in automotive airbrushing, particularly airbrushed car murals and custom painted motorcycles and boats. Our custom airbrush art gallery has samples of the kind of airbrushed artwork we do.

Do you Air Brush Signs?

In addition to custom painting motorcycles, cars and boats, Airbrush Art USA & Signs is a full-service sign shop. We offer digitally printed signs on our large format printer. We do not hand paint business signage. However, depending on your custom signage needs and the special effects that you are looking for, elements of a sign can be airbrushed. Speak to us about your custom sign project requirements.

What is Airbrushing?

Airbrushing is a painting technique that involves the use of a small, hand-held tool called an airbrush. The airbrush is connected to an air compressor that allows paint (or other liquid medium) to be sprayed as a fine mist onto a surface. This painting technique allows an airbrush artist to have a high level of control over how the paint is blended and applied. Using an airbrush allows an artist to create finely detailed images with a high degree of realism. Skilled airbrush artists can produce paintings of photographic realism or can simulate almost any painting medium.

What is Airbrushing used for?

Airbrushing was developed in the late 19th century for painting watercolors and other artistic purposes. Airbrush images can be found today in advertising, publishing, comic books and graphic novels and for many different applications beyond art and illustration.
Airbrushed T-shirts were wildly popular in the 60’s and 70’s and airbrushing murals on vehicles and walls has been long-standing. In recent years the airbrush has been popularized for use in the beauty industry for airbrushed foundation, makeup and tanning, as well as fingernail art and body art. Airbrushing applications also range from hobby airbrushing, for scale modeling enthusiasts, to temporary tattoos, and even to planetary cartography and taxidermy finishing.

What tools are used is Airbrushing?

Armed with an airbrush gun, paints and an air compressor, an artist can freehand airbrush paint on practically any surface, whether that be canvas, clothing, metal, wood, or any surface that will take paint. Experienced airbrush artists often paint using a combination of freehand airbrush techniques with the use of supplementary tools, including stencils, masks and friskets to direct the flow of paint in a controlled manner.

Why work with Airbrush Art USA & Signs?

Not only do we have a decade of experience airbrushing automotive murals and other airbrush projects, customer satisfaction is our top priority.  We take care and pride in our airbrush projects and aim to provide a great service experience.  Quality works of art take time. Sometimes that means project timelines may take a little longer than expected but know that we work hard to meet project timeline without sacrificing quality.

What sets Airbrush Art USA & Signs apart?

We believe that it is more than just the technical ability to color blend and apply layers of paint on a surface to execute a design vision. It is a care for our customers needs, attention to detail and creative problem solving that sets us apart. We are commitment to quality work and professionalism and we want our customers to be happy.  There is no greater compliment than when our clients come back for more.  Sometimes to add more airbrushing to their bike, car, or boat, or for an entirely different project on a new “toy”.

The pieces that we airbrush are the pride and joy of our clients. A motorbike or car is custom painted for personal enjoyment and is a representation of our customer’s style and personal expression.  Customers often get a custom paint job with the intent of entering into their ride into a show or award contest. We do everything we can to help our customers ride their prized “toy” with pride.

What will my finished Airbrushed piece look like?

Some clients come to us with a very clear idea of what they want the final artwork to look like, including exact placement, scale and coloring. Other times our clients are not exactly sure what they want and look to us for design suggestions.  At Airbrush Art USA & Signs, we work with you on art concept development and define the creative parameters so you have a clear expectation for what the finished product will look like.

How much does Airbrushing cost?

The cost of airbrushing is determined by a number of factors.  It depends on what is being airbrushed, for example, is it airbrushing on a 2D metal sculpture, or a 42 foot cigar boat? Is it a Harley Davidson motorbike tank and guard? Is it one car door panel or the entire car? Does it require use of a ladder or scaffold?  These factors are considerations when it comes to pricing. Depending on various considerations, airbrushing can cost hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars.  It ultimately depends on what custom art work will be air brushed, the surface and surface area it will be applied to, ease of access to painting, how detailed the piece is, the complexity of the artwork, how long it will take and the materials used in the piece.  The cost of time spent to break down individual pieces, prepare surfaces for painting, and application of final finish coating must also be factored in. If you have a piece in mind, contact Airbrush Art USA & Signs for an obligation free quote.
